THE PROS & CONS OF LINEAR

in C Major & cmM7*

Time
Is going by
And there's nothing we can do to stop it
Can't seem to die
So I guess I
Will cry "Is anyone out there who can stop it?"!

I'm going in circles and I gotta get out
Before there's no time left at all

Don't take me back to where I started
I don't think that I'll survive
Is this really all for nothing?
...Still I don't wanna die...

Then there are times I'd wish that time
Would just fly by
And get me on out of this hellhole
Let time slip past
To someplace new
Cuz everything and nothing is different

You can't have it both ways
You don't get to choose the way
The master plan unfolds

Don't take me back to where I started
I don't think that I'll survive
Is this really all for nothing?
...Still I don't wanna die...

*(Note: The chord progression for the instrumental remainder of this piece utilizes the diatonic chords from the ascending form of the c melodic minor scale and, along with the guitar solo pulling from the same, establishes a tonal center of [c] minor-major 7)
