MINIMALISM

in F Major & C Major

By Doug Rausch

4/4    ♩= 110

I don’t need fancy cars and I don’t need your love
I don’t need a thousand friends just to give me a shove
I don’t need a big house and lots of knickknacks too
But wait on 2nd thought I could use just a little bit of love from you

Into a chorus where I obligatorily package into a song
All those things that seem to sum up what I’ve been wanting for so long
Not all that much, just a little respect, and knowing that I belong
A little bit of happiness would go real far, and you don’t take so long

The list of things I’d like to discard is longer than that which I’d keep
I got all these hand-me-downs they’re lying here in a heap
Can I interest you in some anger, stress, and worry?
Believe me, I’ve got extra, and they’re not so bad just your eyes are a bit blurry

Into a chorus where I obligatorily package into a song
All those things that seem to sum up what I’ve been wanting for so long
Not all that much, just a little respect, and knowing that I belong
A little bit of happiness would go real far, and you don’t take so long

(solo - temporary modulation to Eb)

One more chorus and I obligatorily package into a song
All those things that seem to sum up what I’ve been wanting all along
At the flick of the wrist; at the turn of the switch; it could be better
Then comes the feeling I can float through the ceiling
And it’s where I wanna be forever
